My practice of painting mandalas is a journey into the center of awareness. Creating the atmospheric background colors is a purely intuitive and spontaneous action. The choices of number and shape that define the mandala come from a curious unconscious place. For each painting the integration of intuition and reason is a mindful balancing act. The mandalas are an inquiry into a personal center yet are universal in their expression.
